We are three women who love CrossFit and obviously love to compete. We workout at CrossFit North Irving in the 100 plus degree heat. We love CrossFit so much that we sought out a gymnastics coach of BlueWave Fitness to help with muscle-ups, bar muscle-ups, pull-ups etc. He helped us out so much that we actually do the BlueWave Competitive Athlete programming. Our coach now helps us out with everything now olympic lifting, gymnastics, and everyday crossfit movements. We work out at Crossfit North Irving 5 times a week and head over to BlueWave once a week.
Here is a little bit about the athletes:
Janelle Nicole has been a trainer for nearly 12 years, and owns Cardinal Muscle Performance, located in Lewisville, TX. She has been training for competitive CrossFit since August, 2015 and since then she is a 2 qualifier for The Fittest Games and top 200 athlete in the region. She trains on average 3 hours a day, 4-6 days/week. My goal is to some day qualify for Regionals.
Krystle Kendrick graduates from chiropractic school right before the trip in August. She actually is going to open her office in CrossFit North Irving in November. She has been doing CrossFit for 3 years. In 2017 she was in the top 1000 in the region. She trains on average 3 hours a day, 4-6 days/weeks. My goal is to be the best I can be and teach people the love of chiropractic and CrossFit.
Margaret Coleman has been involved in the sport of Crossfit for nearly 6 years. 4 years ago she and her husband opened CrossFit North Irving in Irving, TX. She is CrossFit Level 1 certified as well as CrossFit Power lift and Kids certified. Her passion is sharing and teaching the sport she loves everyday. While she has competed in and placed in many local competitions she is excited to test her training on the biggest stage yet, the Granite Games!!!!
Online Qualifier: We signed up for the Granite Games Qualifier mainly for fun. When we submitted our first score online we saw we could potentially make to the actual Granite Games. We gave 110% on re remaining 5 workouts. After completing all of the 6 of the qualifying workouts and felt we could do better on some of the workouts. We redid some and gave it everything we had. It worked we did better on every workout! After everything was finalized we placed 33rd out of 268 teams!!! We were so pumped because they take 45 teams in our division. We knew we qualified. The hardest part was waiting for that official invite inviting us to the Granite Games. We finally got that precious email.
The reality of how expensive this trip will be set in. We started adding up all the expenses in our head registration, flight, car, hotel, and uniforms. We all came together and decided to accept the invite to the Granite Games because we know we have wonderful friends and family who would love to help. We are relying on you to get us there. Every little bit helps. Thank you so much for your generosity.
We are also doing a fundraiser for local DFW area people. Please contact Janelle, Margaret or Krystle directly for more details. Sponsers will be listed soon.
