Beth's Medical Fund

Almost 3 years ago my sweet sister-in-law, Beth de Blois (aka Vivian de Blois/Vivian Roberts), was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.  Ever since her diagnosis, Beth has fought long and hard to rid herself of this vicious disease, and to bring her numbers back down to a normal level.  She started her treatment protocol with a gruelling 6 weeks of chemo, followed by surgery to remove her ovaries and uterus.  Since then, Beth has been on a number of different chemo medications but her numbers have never returned to a normal level.  

Beth is now facing the biggest fight of her life, as her cancer has metastasized into her stomach.  Sadly, she is restricted in her treatment protocol because she is insured under Kaiser Permanente in California.  Beth has spent the past few weeks doing painstaking research into other innovative new ways to treat cancer.  She has found a number of treatment centers, which she is desperate to try, but Kaiser won't fund any treatment outside of their care.  Beth is a single mom, and simply doesn't have the funds to pay for any treatment outside of Kaiser.  She has been so debilitated recently by her metastasis and chemo treatments.  This, coupled with the time that it takes her to be more aggressive about advocating for her healthcare, has meant that she is no longer able to work and bring in an income to support herself or her children.

This is where you come in!  Please consider donating, in order that Beth can step outside of the Kaiser system and get the care that she really needs.  No amount is too small.  All Beth wishes for is that she can be around to watch her kids grow up.
