My name is Amanda lee, Living in Houston, Texas for 20 years. Due to the recent Hurricane, Harvey brought the Houston area an unpresented flooding, and our home is severely damaged, maybe totally lost.
On Monday 8/28/2017, at the peak of flooding, there was no official warning or evacuation order given to us; we just saw the water encircling our area very fast. My husband, my daughter and I were barely able to pack a back pack each to walk through the near-waist-high water to safety. Everything we have was left behind.
Right now, 6 days later, we were still not allowed to go back home because the water was receding very slowly. The official told us it will be weeks before we can access our property.
We are seeking your help so we can rebuild our home and replace the necessities. We don’t have flood insurance because it’s not required. Although FEMA is going to provide assistance, it is far from enough to replace our loss and massive repair jobs ahead of us for a house under water for a few weeks.
Every little donation will be greatly appreciated. All the funds collected will be used to rebuild or repair our house
