Hi, my name is Laura Hogan and I want to thank you for visiting our page. For those of you who know my husband, Ben, and I, you know we have be trying to start a family for many years. For those who we haven't had the pleasure of meeting, we have endured two failed fertility treatments, with a cost of over $15,000 and many years of just trying without success.
December 2013 after our second failed treatment, ( our first was in October 2012) we decided to pursue and start the process for adoption. We were told at that time, that once we put in our application that the home study would begin in about a year, which would give us time to come up with a financial plan. However, we recived a call several months earlier than expected which definitely through several hitches in our plan. Our hope was and is to save money and receive grants in order to pay for the adoption, unfortunately none of those are guaranteed. With getting the call earlier than anticipated we are rushing to get things ready for our home study and the final payment in the adoption procress. We have struggled for almost 10 years now with infertility, and our hope is that with adoption our dream of having a family will be complete.
We both have dedicated our professional lives to helping others, me as an elementary school teacher working in the inner city, and he as a municiple police officer. We feel we have done everything we can to make our dream come true, it just seems as soon as we get a step ahead something comes along and knocks us back.
We understand that there are many out there with similar circumstances and we just felt we should share our story.
That is why we have created this page to see what could happen. If you can help in any way we would be eternally grateful, if you cannot donate we completely understand and are still very grateful, all we ask that you share our story with the people you know.
