Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out and offered their support, prayers and future help for CrossFit Central Houston.

Our CrossFit Gym located in Houston, TX received 3-4 feet of water after a wall collapsed on Saturday night during the flooding that was caused by Hurricane Harvey. We are so grateful for all of the hugs and well wishes, and the offers to help us clean up. It's absolutely amazing.
We've had family and friends, as well CrossFit community members - many of whom live outside of Houston!! - reach out and ask how they can help us, we we set up this fundraising page as an option. Any funds raised would be directed towards two things:
1) Rebuilding CrossFit Central Houston. We are a small business and as you can imagine, going through something like this takes quite the financial toll. We have insurance for the gym, but as is the case with most insurance policies, flood damage is excluded from our coverage. We'll be working to replace equipment that was damaged, some that was lost (literally floated out of the front of the building where the wall caved in), cleaning expenses, and general operating expenses that still exist, even though we're not fully operational yet. This community means a lot ot us, and to the members of CrossFit Central Houston - it's their hang out spot with friends, where they relax, where they get away, where they laugh and work hard....just as much as it is their fitness facilitity; and we want to be able to continue to be that for them as soon as possible.
2) THE MAJORITY OF FUNDS RAISED WILL BE USED TO HELP THE FAMILIES OF CFCH WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED by this weekend. Most importantly, our hearts go out of the many CFCH families who's homes have been destroyed and themselves have been displaced during this disaster of a weekend.
We have many families who attend our gym who have had severe flood damage at their homes. Some had to be boat rescued - children and pets in tow - from their homes. With this amount of devastation across the city, there's no telling how long it will take for these families to repair their homes to a livable state. We have always believed not only in the program of CrossFit, but in the COMMUNITY that it builds, and we'd love to do everything that we can to assist our CrossFit family members with food, water, clothes, home goods, and anything else that they might need immediately. We will be using the majority of these funds to purchase gift cards for these families to HEB, Wal-Mart, Target and Home Depot.
No matter what, our gym and gym members could use all of the prayers, good thoughts, and support that we can get.
