On February 3rd, 2022, Kookie and her humans house was destroyed in a fire. The home was a total loss including 3 more beloved pets. Jim, Mike and Kookie were able to get out alive. Pierce County Sheriffs Deputy Dech was able to keep Jim, Kookie’s distraught dad safe while Central Pierce Fire and Rescue saved Kookie and provided life saving oxygen. This is a small close knit community and this family could use all the help possible to start over and pay for Kookie’s vet bills.

On Thursday, around noon, I got word that my home was on fire. I raced from work to my house to find out me and my Uncle Jim lost everything. Inside the home, our beloved pets Kookie, a peeka-pom, and my two cats Willow and Zoey and everything we owned. My Uncle Jim raced in to save the pets, but were only able to get Kookie.
My Uncle and I were only able to get out with the clothes on our back and my dog. We are staying at a motel, but that will only last for a few days. Housing is an unknown for us. We did not have insurance and we are facing a difficult situation.
Any support would be so grateful for me, my uncle, and for Kookie.
