IBEW Brother Shane Injury Fund

As many of you are aware, my brother, Shane Helm, International Brotherhood Elecrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 125 Lineman, was involved in a terrible accident at work on May 7th, 2014. He fell about 60 feet from the steel transmission tower that he was working on, resulting in several broken bones and severe injuries, many surgeries, and a lenthly hospital stay. Of the many surgeries, two just took place on the 18th of July. He has also been fighting an ongoing battle against an infection, that continues to linger, on the badly damaged right leg and ankle. Now after five operations and the possibility of future procedures, Shane's recovery has only just begun. With only a fraction of wages being paid while on leave and the possiblity of being unable to work for another year, financial hardship is inevitable and quickly approaching. As if they hadn't already been through enough, while traveling back and forth to and from the hospital, their only means of transportation failed them and they were lucky enough to have a great friend get them back on the road. However, the vehicle continues to require repairs just to keep it operating enough to get them to and from weekly and sometimes daily appointments (over an hour of travel time each way) for further treatment and rehab. Shane is very lucky to still be alive considering the extent of the accident and his injuries. He has many things to be thankful for, especially a very caring and loving fiance that is by his side caring for him every step of the journey to recovery. Without her, he would still be in a hospital or rehabilitation facility. I wish that I was able to provide all the financial support that is needed; however, that is not possible at this time. SO, please help me help him. He has always been there to help anyone in need and this is our time to return the generousity and support!
