<div>We are the Cerebral Palsy Trust a charitable initiative set up in 2020 by a group of students at Wellington College who wanted to raise awareness and support for the cerebral palsy community. One of these students was David Lofthouse who has cerebral palsy. When he was younger he was lucky enough to receive Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery which greatly enhanced his mobility and reduced his pain. However, SDR surgery can be very costly at £36,500. So, David and his team wanted to raise funds for more children to receive this life-changing Surgery. Since its inception, the CPT has raised over £300,000 from various fundraising ventures.

<div>In Summer 2022, the CPT formed a partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital in London which has allowed us to turn funds into surgeries. Since then, GOSH has completed 5 surgeries on the back of CPT funding. This has enabled 5 children who wouldn’t have been able to afford it otherwise to have SDR surgery.

<div>As a team, we want to provide more of these life-changing surgeries to even more children with cerebral palsy. So, six of us have decided to walk from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London to Wellington College in Berkshire on the 21st of January 2024. The walk will involve a 63.7 km walk across rural and urban terrain.
