Cercena Family Medical Crisis Fund

On Thursday May 25, 2017, my mother, Lucinda Susan Ruh, who is 68 years old was in a severe car crash. She was struck in the rear by an 18 wheeler who then continued to drag her another 100 y
ards after striking the car. She was airlifted to CMC Main Trauma Intensive Care Unit and still remains there after several surgeries and setbacks. Many problems and complications have arisen from the injuries sustained from the accident. She is intubated with severe breathing problems.



I am Derek Cercena, her son. I am her primary caregiver since her becoming a widow. She lives with me and I have already been struggling with the bank to try to obtain financing on our family home.



I work as a restaurant assistant manager on an hourly basis. Ever since this accident I have been unable to work. I have been spending all of my time at the hospital with my mother ensuring her proper care and treatments. Communicating with doctors, nurses and other medical personnel. I just can not leave her alone during this traumatic time as she still remains in the Trauma ICU unit. Her condition is hit and miss and not stable at all. She is battling for her life and I am her son helping her to win this battle. I just want to keep our family home in hopes that I have a home to bring my mother to when this struggle is over. My bills are piling up and I am scared as I have no paycheck coming in.



Anything that anyone can help us with would be greatly and sincerely appreciated. I don’t know where else to turn and I am so tired and weary myself from these struggles of trying to stay strong, positive and optimistic for all of our sakes.
