My name is Dr. Susan Levine and I need your help. Not only am I an active dentist practicing in Fairfield, Connecticut, but I also dedicate my time to helping others around the world through volunteer services.
December of 2016, I had the opportunity to visit the Centre De Santé De Joal; The Health Center for the town Joal, Senegal. My connection with this facility began with a picture of the daughter of a friend of mine from that region. At fifteen years old, she is missing three of her front teeth. My friend shared with me that the clinic does not have the capability to help her. I requested the necessary impressions to be made and brought back to the States. I had the removable prosthesis fabricated here to replace the missing teeth and brought back to Senegal. This changed this young girls’ life.
Subsequently, I was invited to visit the health center in Joal. What I observed was a facility providing both dental and medical needs for the community and surrounding areas.
Following a tour and meeting with health care providers/administrators, they clarified their biggest need are funds to complete an unfinished maternity ward. Presently, women and infants cannot receive the care they so desperately need.
My goal is to raise $20,000, the sum requested to complete the construction of this maternity ward by April 1st, 2017.
In addition, dental supplies needed will be donated by the various vendors I am currently affiliated with.
