The NSW Central West is currently battling through the worst drought in Australia's history and it is having a devastating and crippling impact on the lives of so many.
Farmers and their communities are experiencing extreme financial hardships and desperately need our support, with your help WE CAN make a difference.
The communities in NSW Central West have received just over 10% of their average annual rainfall, with day zero water supplies predicted to arrive shortly after Christmas. With no decent rainfall on the horizon, they need as much support as we can possibly muster. It's going to be a long and arduous road back however if we all dig deep we will make a difference.
Depression and anxiety is a widespread problem throughout rural communities, which is sadly having a devastatingly tragic impact on the mental health of many of the men and families in country communities. Suicide rates are progressively higher in rural, remote and very remote areas and are 50% higher than that of our major cities.
Having personally witnessed the devastating affect the drought is having on the community of Nyngan, NSW, I am setting an ambitious target of raising $10,000 for those most in need. To do this I will require as much assistance as possible.
100% of all money donated will go directly towards assisting the farmers, their families and communities through providing much needed mental health support, food, and supplies for farmers and their remaining livestock. I will personally delivering vouchers to be used at local businesses to ensure 100% of the proceeds raised go to those most in need. Remember your small donation and support may be the one that turns a life around.
I will be attempting to 'Grow A Mo' throughout the month of November as a visual reminder to those I cross paths with, to support this cause. I am more than happy for any of you to jump onboard and join the crusade. For those that know me personally, for me to 'Grow A Mo' certainly is a challenge!
I ask that you please dig deep and consider donating even a single lunch or coffee spend (or more if you are feeling Mo-generous) to help achieve the $10,000 target.
