Magical Cello Adventure In Iceland

Beautiful audience members,

I have an opportunity to travel to Iceland this August to record and perform:

-on a beautiful glacier,
-in a sacred cave (considered to be one of the seven chakras of the planet),
-and in an ancient forest full of elves.

When I perform, I channel from a greater source to sanctify the space, so that my audience is transported and deeply nourished to do their own work in the world.

I have been doing this in the magical Bethesda Tunnel in NYC, and at the same time, I am being called to step out into the wider world and share with an even larger global audience.

I have been wondering - where am I meant to play next? Where is my next stage? What is my next step beyond the beautiful Bethesda Tunnel?

Going to Iceland this August is a magical opportunity to do just that!

My whole life, I have felt enthralled and sanctified and transformed when I see or hear a performer and I am moved to tears of joy or get chills up and down my body.

For many years, the deepest mission and desire of my soul has been to give that same experience to others through my own performances.

This summer, I have watched audience members be deeply touched by my music again and again in the Bethesda Tunnel in NYC.

And I have realized that for me to stay exclusively in NYC is a form of hiding. I feel called to say yes to this opportunity to share my music on the global stage in Iceland.

Who will benefit:

-donors, who will receive fun prizes ranging from a song recorded in a magical Icelandic location emailed to you, all the way to a private concert in your home with gluten-free brownies included

-anyone who gives, who will have the deep satisfaction of knowing they have helped this dream come true

-all audience members in Iceland, who will receive a magical musical experience and be transported and nourished

-audience members globally, who will be able to receive recordings of the new music that comes through this experience, and through this music, be inspired and feel the presence of angels

What funds will be used for:

-airfare to + from Iceland - $1,250
-food - $1,150
-travel expenses - $750
-transport w/in Iceland to these sacred venues - $850
-recording my performances - $2,000

How soon I need the funds:

Because the places I want to play are outside, I need the funds by early August 2017 in order to get to Iceland before it is too cold for my cello to safely be played outside in the sacred cave, ancient forest, and on the beautiful glacier.

UPDATE: I am ELATED that we have already raised almost $6,000 for this project, and I have been able to spend almost 2 months in Iceland! This is above and beyond my wildest dreams!

I now have an opportunity to extend my stay through Oct 28th. In order to do this, I need to raise an additional $2,000 by Oct 1st.

Why this project will suceed:

I have successfully completed 2 major international musical projects before:

1. I was the project leader shooting a documentary about female bata drummers in Havana, Cuba

2. I performed and recorded both my own original piece + traditional and new compositions for Balinese gamelan in Bali, Indonesia (compoers, ensemble member, and concertmaster equivalent on some pieces)

In addition, I have the following education and experience:

3. Masters of Music in Cello Performance

4. Extensive performance training with Josh Pais

5. Extensive cello performance experience including:
-apprenticing to a professional symphony orchestra
-playing for whirling dervishes in NEC's Jordan Hall
-gamelan music in Carnegie's Zankel Hall
-Bang on A Can Marathon at the BAM Opera House and Winter Garden

6. Compositional experience including:
-writing for my own jazz and poetry ensemble
-composing a string quartet
-writing an original work for Balinese gamelan
-composing and improvising original music for cello

What the support will mean to me:

For me to travel to Iceland this summer and play in these sacred spaces will be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to share my music and my soul with the world.

It also will mean that I am launching myself onto the global stage - and, I sense, lead to even more opportunities to share my music.

Setting up this gofundme campaign, I am acting from the guidance of my heart, instead of trying to figure out how to get to Iceland with my rational mind.

For this project to be funded will be massive confirmation that I actually can share my music with the world, that my heart's guidance is to be trusted, and that my dreams actually can come true.
