Help Bruna get a new cello

Hello. My name is Bruna W. Gonçalves and I am a cellist and Classical Music student in a college from Montreal. Last week I found my cello cracked in the instrument locker at school. To see my instrument damaged broke my heart, because I always took great care of it and all my life revolves around it.


I am an immigrant in Canada, having arrived from Brazil nearly 2 and a half years ago alone with my boyfriend, I  started my dream of studying music and becoming an independent artist. All my family and relatives are in Brazil, so I live by myself and have to manage a heavy workload of studies with small jobs here and there, paying debts and music gear.


I am currently playing with a cracked cello, because in the luthier's evaluation it isn’t  worth to repair it since it is expensive (1500$ + tx)  and the problem may not even be solved. This incident took me by surprise and I'd like to get a better quality cello, but I can't afford to buy a good new instrument on my own and in a few weeks I need to go back to school for the winter semester and go on with my studies. I am also part of a non-profit orchestra and I play in a rock band called Spectroom . That group plays an essential role in my life and it discourages me to think that my band, orchestra and academic projects could be impaired by the actual condition of my cello, as I try to make beautiful music with a broken instrument.


All my plans depended on my precious instrument and I am asking for your help, because only you can make a difference in my life right now. 

How your donations will help:
- Your donations will go straight to buying a new cello from a local luthier shop in Montreal.
- The instrument I am aiming for is a handmade student cello and it costs $3.000 with no taxes included.

Instead of buying a cheap instrument  and spending additional money on good strings and other adjustments to make it sound nice, all I am aiming for is a good basic cello.
