Celia's expenses

Celia is a fighter!  She stood up for her friends in elementary school when they were being bullied.  She rallied for humanitarian causes in Washington, DC.  She cleaned guns for the Israeli Defense Force.  She continues to fight cancer.   Celia is no stranger to breast cancer.  Her mother and aunts had it and they were warriors too.  Thankfully, medical science has advanced since the 1950s and the chemotherapy that was not readily available is common place now.   Unfortunately, no one gets out of this alive and even though Celia’s battles are not yet finished and we are rallying with her through this latest round of chemo, we all must transition from Earth to Heaven.  We are taking the time we have with Celia now to make plans for her final resting place.  She needs our help.  Currently, battling her 11th bout is tough.  Even unicorns can use some rainbows, hugs, and extra special wishes, on occasion.    We are seeking to raise at least $12,000 for Celia Nachlas.  This includes a plot, plain pine casket, opening and closing the gravesite, any travel arrangements and other expenses necessary for this final party.   We know that Celia is a fighter, putting her heart out there, always caring for and considering the best options for the people she cares about.  But we also know, that many of you know Celia is a lover. Someone who loved you, your children, your friends and families like her own. And, her home has always had an open door and she would never hesitate, no matter how exhausted she was, to fix you something to eat, pour you a glass of wine, or make sure you had all you needed when you were in her care.   Celia’s love could never be measured in dollars but $12,000 seems a pittance given how much she has invested her life in us.   Celia might be a unicorn, the strongest and most stubborn woman we know, and she has welcomed everyone into her house for Shabbat, Seder, a sleepover, party or just cause you were nearby…But, right now, she needs our help.    Help us plan for her final resting place while she fights the good fight and beats this cancer.  Let us take this one care off of her plate.  And let us pray that she wins this battle and we have another decade or two to fight and love Celia, as we always have.
