On Monday, November 20th, my Mother passed away suddenly in her sleep. She had been in a lot of pain for most of her life and I assume her body just couldn't take it anymore and gave up. She was suffering imensely and the numerous doctors she saw could never find the cause. While we're all extremely devastated that she's gone, at least she isn't suffereing anymore. I feel as if a portion of my soul has been stripped away. My heart aches and I can only hope in time, it will heal.
Due to my mother's illness, she was unable to work. My father was also out of work due to an extremely invasive procedure which almost took his life. Due to my mother and father not working, they struggled to make ends meet. The bank is now attempting to take thier house, the water has been turned off, and the power is going to be shut off next week. I am currently the only one working but I do not make enough to help keep the power on and the bank from taking the house. We had thought about selling the house since they owe so little on it, but ultimately decided to try and keep it because it meant a lot to my mother to keep the house that her children had grew up in. We decided to fight for the house in her memory. On top of the pile of debt, we also must come up with the money for my mother's funeral. She did not have life insurance so we're having to cover the costs out of pocket.
This fund is to raise money to help cover the funeral costs, as well as catch the mortage up so that we can keep the house. We always felt hopeless that we couldn't do anything to ease my mother's pain. Fighting to keep the house she raised us in is our attempt to make amends.
