Celebration of Gary's Life

Donation protected

My brother Gary McGregor passed away on October 9th.  Gary suffered from heart disease for many yeras of his life.  Despite that he lived full life in a short 47 years! He touched so many lives in so many ways! Gary spent most of his adult life working to raise money and awareness for Veteran's all over Maine and beyond! He was a life member of the VFW and American Legion in Old Town.
All money donated will be spent to cover the cost of Gary's funeral arrangements.  Any money left over will be donated to House in The Woods, in Gary's name. House in The Woods is located in Lee, Maine.  Here is their mission statement:

Our Mission is to create a therapeutic, recreational, and educational retreat for our nation's U.S. armed forces and their families, using outdoor wilderness activities in Maine and natural habitats to help participants share common challenges related to their service and sacrifice in protecting our nation's freedom and democratic ideals.

I was away from the family for many years.  I missed a lot of Gary's adult life. Way back in 1987 I got Gary a job at the glass company I was working for.  That turned into his career and he loved it.  He was forced out of the business, due to health issues for many years.  I moved back home in 2010 and started a glass business of my own.  I wanted to build the business to get Gary back involved in the industry he truley enjoyed. A few years ago we were able to do it.  Gary has been working with me since 2015 and he loved it! Today as I sit in our office trying to write this I am surrounded by his things.  Our note books are filled with his hand writting and customer's are calling asking for him.  It is going to take a very long time to get life back to normal, if ever!

Although this is an opportunity to celebrate Gary's life I also want to carry on his goals of contributing to Veterans causes.  The House in the Woods was something he was very passionate about. This would be a great opportunity for all of us to help carry on his legacy.

All donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us in this difficult time.
