Celebration Arts Needs Your Help

Celebration Arts, Sacramento's Premier Black Theater, is moving forward in this so-called post-covid era, but we still need your help. Since re-opening in September 2021, we have been struggling to bring back our audience to our B Street theater, and that is slowly happening. But we continue to need your help in surviving these crisis times.

Many of you have heard about Celebration Arts’ good fortune to have received a $714,000 allocation from our 6th state assembly district Assemblymember Kevin McCarty. We are grateful for his show of support for Sacramento’s Premier Black Theater after 37 years of serving our community.

BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

First, the grant will not be available until 2024.

Second, when we can access the funds, it is earmarked for specific line items, such as staff salaries and capital building improvements.

Celebrations Arts has operational costs that are not covered by this generous grant, and which far exceed our box office revenues. Please continue to open your hearts and wallets to support us, because the arts cannot survive on earned income alone.

Our 2023 Season Theme - "Overcoming" says in all! We are dedicated to presenting theater that gives our community a voice in overcoming many of the ills of our society while expressing our Black Joy!
