Celebrating the Life of Red Nua

As most of you know, Red has been battling cancer for the past three years. Her cancer, Hereditary Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma, is a very rare and very aggressive kind. When she was first diagnosed in September 2021, the doctor was hopeful that removing her kidney would remove the cancer… She was cancer free for one year. At her one-year checkup, the doctor stated that her cancer was back, and that she had a long and fighting road ahead of her. What none of us knew, was that the road was only going to be two years. In April 2023, her cancer metastasized and went into her lymph nodes. She had her lymph nodes removed at that time. When she stopped Chemo treatments in June 2024, the cancer came out with a vengeance. She has been in nonstop pain since. She had a CT scan done and found lesions on her liver. On September 13, 2024, her oncologist sent her to ER for pain management. They did another CT scan, only to find that in just four days, her cancer had practically doubled. She had a third CT scan another four days later and her cancer had spread even more. The doctor stated she only has a few weeks left of living. If she were to do more chemo treatments, that only buys her a few months, and those months would be spent in pain and suffering. She has made the decision to not do anymore treatments to not prolong her pain. We, as her supporters, must respect her decision.
This has been a very difficult time for our family. As we are planning everything, the costs are adding up. We are asking for help with her afterlife expenses. Red hasn’t worked since her diagnosis three years ago.
We thank you all in advance and ask that you always keep this Krazy Italian Redhead’s memory alive.
