I just celebrated my 80th birthday, eighty incredible years. I am so blessed and grateful to be healthy and have so many wonderful people in my life. One of the ways I celebrated my big birthday was by fulfilling a 40 year dream to go hang gliding – I wisely decided I couldn’t wait another 40 years - it was a great experience but everyone is not so fortunate.

One of the wonderful people in my life, and a dear friend, is Willie who is not nearly as fortunate as I. We met in a exercise class at the YMCA a few years ago-me trying to keep what I had physically and Willie trying to get back what he had lost.

Willie worked in advertising before he had a stroke a dozen years ago. Work benefits ended soon after, and he now lives on mere SS disability income. Although he diligently strives to regain former capabilities he remains disabled and struggles with other health issues. His speech is soft and slurred. He has a great smile and a contagious laugh, both of which he readily shares with all he meets. Down deep he is obviously a HAPPY person.

Somehow, despite his personal challenges he continues to give to others - flowers, meals, notes, etc. Interestingly, his credit rating is EXCELLENT.

A recent accident has put Willie in a serious financial bind. He needs help. With contributions from you, me, and others, we could raise a few thousand dollars. Suddenly Willie would be out of a monetary crisis.
