Celebrate Vince Avenatti's Life and Contributions

Donation protected
Celebrating the life and contributions of our friend, Vince Avenatti. Vince was a colleague, friend, and inspiration to many of us in the world of healthcare compliance, accreditation, and quality improvement.

Vince joined JCR in 2013 with decades of experience in building and fire code enforcement for commercial and residential buildings. He was the driving force behind the development and maintenance of a life safety code survey and documentation process that was accepted by CMS regional offices.

As an LSC Specialist for the Alabama Department of Health, Vince conducted surveys of health care facilities (i.e., hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and skilled care facilities), assessing for compliance with Medicare LSC regulations and state licensure rules. Vince also reviewed and approved building plans in accordance with fire safety and ICC standards.

Vince was co-author of the CMS national award-winning Basic Life Safety Code training manual, and author of the web-based advanced training programs for the following fire safety inspection principles: "fire alarm system testing," "sprinkler system testing," and "construction principles." He was co-author of the script for the satellite broadcast program 2000 Life Safety Code update.

On a personal side, those of us who knew Vince witnessed his generosity to others. He would buy a stranger's dinner, help the neighbor boy who didn't have a father and almost lost his life helping his neighbors in the hurricane three years ago. Vince was in the middle of building his wife's dream house when he passed. They had already sold their home and were supposed to move the week after Vince died. The house is on stilts and Vince's wife, Tonya, is using a step ladder to get in the house. The house has a roof, windows, electricity and subfloor but no siding, flooring or steps.

In honor of Vince, we would like to give Tonya a little hand up with this "Go Fund Me" page. ALL funds raised will be donated directly to Tonya to support her with expenses during this difficult time.
She will appreciate it more than you know.
