Ceili's Study Abroad Journey to London

My name is Ceili Cornelius, born and raised Oregonian and am currently attending the University of Oregon in Eugene. I am entering my junior year of study in the School ofJournalism and Communication, pursuing a degree in Journalism. This year, I entered a program to study abroad through the University, called Liberal Arts in London. This study abroad program focuses on a number of different courses focused in liberal arts and includes journalism courses. The reason I chose London was because I have wanted to go there since I was a little girl. My parents, especially my Dad, a writer and storyteller had a huge influence into what movies and books I read as a young girl. At age 11, I was introduced to Harry Potter. I was ensconced in the series and later, into the movies. I was not only intrigued by the story and magical world, but where it took place in England. For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to British culture and history.
I will be attending the University College London for five months, starting in January and studying for the semester until May. The study abroad experience and program through the university is wonderful, however it is not cheap. The cost of going abroad to not only study, but to travel is a costly one at that. So I am asking for my community's help. University and travel is expensive, so any help from the people around myself will allow me to have the experience that I have desired for so long, in London, furthering my educational experience.
