Norm's Music Degree

Hello Everyone!!

My name is Norman Lugtu. I'm one of those "third culture" kids who, despite the amount the effort, hesistate when asked "Where are you from?"

You see I'm born Filipino, but I grew up in Saudi Arabia of all places, for a good portion of my life (20 years!!).

Over the last three years I've had the privilege of studying at the Hillsong International Leadership College in Sydney, Australia. Being a part of that college has taught me many things from Music Directing, Songwriting, Biblical Exegesis, Church Leadership, being a part of ministries that reach out to people, and many many more. Being in Australia has blessed me with many friends, many families, and different places I can call HOME!!

After my graduation this July, I've decided to pursue a lifelong dream of mine: to acquire a music degree!

If you know me, you know that I've had a great bias towards playing guitar; it is and will continue to be my primary creative outlet. But these last years have shown me that I also have a leaning towards music as a whole; as a music director, composer, and producer. Therefore I've decided to apply for a Bachelor of Music Degree (Composition and Production) at the Australian Institute of Music, considered one of Australia's top universities for music. 

After the interview, I GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM!!!!! (I just got the Letter of Offer a few days ago!)

I created this page to help me in raising the financial support I need:

$10,000 (in Australian Dollars) will help cover AIM's (Australian Institute of Music) initial trimester fees ($7,800) and the rest will be going towards my student visa.

My current Student Visa expires in September. If I can get this $10,000 by the end of this month, I can accept my offer into AIM's Bachelor of Music Program, and extend my current student visa!
