Update from Marco and family 1/17/24
Good morning sweet family and friends.
We just wanted to take this opportunity to update everyone who have been asking or concerned. We are currently in a temp house while we start to figure out where to start. I’ve been to the house a few times to try to salvage anything I can. Most has been lost. But there are a few items we will be able to recover. Albeit the items smell like a fire. But that is beside the point. Some pictures. A few clothes. Everything is still frozen from the cold temps and million gallons of water that was necessary to stop the blaze. So hoping once it thaws maybe we can recover a few more keep sakes. The kids are adjusting to life out of our home and will return to school today in an attempt to create some normalcy in this abnormal situation. I wish I could see the hero’s welcome they will receive from their friends. It will be heart warming.
Now, as for all you folks out here in the real world. We have been completely humbled by the outpouring of support and response. Jen and I are the kind of people who are doers. We don’t typically ask for help or expect it. We love helping others and never dreamed we would be on this side of this kind of situation. I can only hope that some of you have felt our love and support the way we are feeling loved and supported. Please keep lifting us up in your prayers, thoughts, sending positive energy/vibes, reaching out to tell us your happy we are ok etc. again, it’s very humbling. You people are inspiring.
We will hopefully find out today what our long term plan can be as we meet the adjusters this morning. Should be a fun experience
Thank you for the clothes, toys, gift cards compassion and your love and support. You all are incredible. We again have lost so much. But feel so full of appreciation and love for all of you. So humbling the love we have received. Shout out to our friends, family, church family, neighbors and complete strangers just wanting to help.
I have not found our cats yet. But I see plenty of footprints and evidence that they have been eating the food we have left out and our neighbors are feeding as well. I’m sure they are confused and scared. But they are around. Neighbors are on patrol for them. We will find them. They didn’t go far. They honestly are probably playing in the house at night, now that they have full access to it.
This will be a long road. One with many ups and several downs. But again we can’t help but feel like we have not lost anything as we get to hold each other every morning we wake up and every night before bed. We have not lost. We are simply on the path back to victory. Together. Heads up pushing forward and ready to tackle what tomorrow brings us. We are stronger and closer than ever. Humbled.
If we have not responded to some of your messages or phone calls, please understand that we are fielding 100’s of messages and phone calls. We have not forgotten you or are ignoring you. We are just taking 1 step at a time.
Much love to you all.

Hello, we are all coming together as a community to help our dear friends Marco and Jenifer Cefalo who lost their home yesterday evening to a house fire. If you are able to donate, I know they will be forever grateful. Also, if you wish to donate via PayPal, Venmo or Cash app, please private message me.
Here is Marco's post about what happened.
It started as a typical Saturday evening together. Fun, laughs and companionship of our loving little family.
I’ve lit a hundred or more fires in our fireplace over the last 10 years. Never ever have had a problem. Last night went different. After reading books and just enjoying each other and the warmth of a good fire, things changed in a instant. Out of nowhere smoke started filling our living room. We grabbed a extinguisher in hopes there was a small fire that could be easily put out. We realized in a instant that was not the case. We scrambled as best we could and got everyone out of the house through the garage. Even the dogs. We watched the next 2 hrs as our last 10 years and all our worldly possessions went up in flames. we had escaped with the clothes on our back and that’s it. The rest has been lost.
This morning, as you are waking up in your warm beds. Surrounded by the ones you love realize how fragile things are and can be. Hold your loved ones close and cherish every moment. For even though we are waking up and we have lost so much, I can’t help but feel the warmth of gratitude and love. Everything that We lost and watched burn truly were possessions. Everything that matters is safe. Everything that had actual value to us is out of the house.
No one is hurt. No one was lost. We saved the animals.
I have never felt so rich as I do this morning. In old sweats and a hoodie with neighbors shoes on.
Thank you to the Edmond FD for doing all they could to get the blaze under control. Thank you neighbors and friends who sprung into action to try to help. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your kindness and loving messages.
Our possessions are gone. But our family is strong. This will only solidify our bond. This will not define us, but rather bring us to a new place in life. Together, that is all that matters. We will do this all together.
From the outside looking in you may think we lost everything. But in fact we still have everything. Our family.
God bless to all of you. May it never take something like this to show you how rich you are to have your family.
Although it sounds odd, I wake up this morning grateful. Grateful I get another morning to hold my wife and kids. Grateful for all the memories that house gave us for 10 years.
Today we start making new memories. Together. How fortuanate we are.
