Help us send our parents Eddie and Diana Garcia on the trip of a lifetime to watch their baby girl play in the International Softball Federation's XIV World Championship Softball Series in Amsterdam.
For those of you who know us and those who don't, we are Eddie and Diana's three daughters: Cheryl, Danielle and Erika. Since we can remember playing softball was central to our way of life. Our parents have coached us, been our biggest fans and most importantly our financial backers through decades of playing ball. Whether travel teams or the local rec leagues, mom and dad gave up everything to give us the opportunity to play. Their unwaivering support and dedication helped all three of us girls land Softball Scholarship to play ball in college. Softball is a way of life for our family and it is all because of our parents.
This past week our biggest dream came true, our youngest Erika made the National Softball team for Puerto Rico, our dad's home country. To say the least our family has been over the moon. Erika will now get to travel the world playing a game we love so much. As kids and even college mom and dad always made the trek to watch us play and we could always count on dad's infamous whistle. At the end of August Erika will represnt Puerto Rico in the International Softball Federation's XIV World Championship Softball Series in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Since softball is no longer an Olympic sport this is as big as it gets.
The three of us can't pay for the trip alone, so we are asking family and friends for any help they can spare. Help us raise the funds to buy our parents plane tickets to send them on the trip of a lifetime to watch Erika play. Our parents have never gone on a vacation like this, much less left the state of Florida and this is the only way we know how to truly say thank you for all they have done for us girls. For all of you that know Eddie, he is not an emotional man, rather a man of few words with the world's greatest poker face. But to understand what this would mean to him and our mom, the day Erika told him she made the team it brought our dad to tears. It was personal validation that every hour and dollar they dedicated to giving us opportunities through softball finally paid off. Thank you for your time and any dollar you can spare from the bottom of our hearts.
