My name is SGT. Cedeno, Hector O. I've been in the Army for 10 years and have four combat tours. I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in NYC. The purpose of this message is because I have exhausted all my resources and contacts in trying to help my mother and father with where, and the conditions they live. They are both disabled and live in a five story walk up with no elevator. Also for the past two and a half years we have been contacting section eight and numerous agencies and council men to no avail. The apartment has molded areas with legit hair growing on them, her stove is fifteen years old and only have two burners that work, the oven is inoperable, there are parts of the apartment with the ceiling already fallen and other parts fall daily. On top of all this they have recently given her a letter of disposses stating they have not gotten rent even though she has proof stating the contrary. I am asking if anyone can donate any amount that they wish to give in order for them to move and live in better living conditions. I am asking for just someone to also hear my parents and for someone to do something in regards to this slum landlord and expose the injustices he has done to my parents and numerous other tenants or better said families, the elderly and children. I have asked my parents to move with me regardless of my continuous deployments and type instability which comes with being in the military but due to there extensive medical treatments and conditions have not been possible. Please help my family it seems almost unbearable and so frustrating of the condition they live. At times they have to debate just to be able to get a gallon of milk just because of the flights of steps and physical pain they have to go through never mind when it's a bunch of groceries or doing laundry. I hope and pray that this be an ear that for once hears and actually listens and hopefully speaks and defends those who cannot for themselves. I thank you all and continue to do for people.
