Cecil Sanchez Kidney Fund

Many of you know me, and know that i am not big on posting on social media.  But I need your help!!  My best friend of 25 years recently received a kidney transplant.  His family needs our help to cover the costs of medical visits and time away from work.

My best friends name is Cecil Sanchez.  His wife's name is Tammy.  Many of you have met them and are aware of his situation.  For those who have not met them.  Let me tell you about them.

Cecil and I met when we worked together at Applebee's.  I was a buss boy and he was a cook.  In the beginning, our relationship was not the best.  We both had larger than life personalities.  And at times we didn't see eye to eye.  But, the more we hung out, the more we realized we had a lot in common and together we became the life of the party.  We have always been there for each other and wouldn't change anything we have gone through over the years.  (except his body failing him)

Cecil has always been a larger than average person.  If you have ever met him you know his is the biggest teddy bear you will ever meet.  And one of the most sharing and caring people you will ever meet.  Approximately 5 years ago his kidneys started to fail.  And in June of 2015 he was forced to start dialysis.  His journey to get on the donor list was no easy task.  He made many life changes to get healthier and lose weight.  A few months ago, he was finally able to be placed on the donor list and on Saturday August 18th he received the call that a donor kidney was available.  It's ironic that we had planned that day to BBQ for his birthday (AUG 21st).  This is the best birthday gift he could ever ask for.  He rushed to Kansas City.  And the next day went into surgery and received the transplant.  The surgery went well and is doing well in recovery.

This is where he needs our help.  He lives in Wichita, KS.  His recovery and check up visits will be held in Kansas City.  He plans on staying in KC throughout the recovery and follow up process.  Also, his wife had to take a leave of absence to help him through the process.  The goal amount will help them with any expenses throughout this recovery.  Please help me reach that goal and help them in this time of need.  If you are unable to help.  Please send prayers to help him through the recovery.

Thank you!!
