CeCe needs a liver transplant
Spende geschützt
CeCe Garrett was diagnosed with scleroderma, which is a systemic connective tissue disorder, as well as on the spectrum of autoimmune disease, at the age of eight, and has spent her entire life living in spite of it, becoming a loving mother and wife, dedicating herself in service to others, and supporting numerous young people in need of help all across the nation. However, one of the side effects of scleroderma is NASH (which is non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver). CeCe has been diagnosed with NASH, and at this point has been experiencing symptoms of end-stage liver disease, including ascites (which is retention of fluid in the abdomen due to the decrease in function of the filtration through the liver), esophageal bleeding and encephalopathy. She was recently added to the transplant list, and is currently needing a live donor for a partial liver transplant.
While CeCe will gladly tell you that if it all ended tomorrow, she'd be proud that hers is a legacy of love, she still has work left to do. Her husband, her kids, and her scores of bonus kids who have found affirmation and love are not ready to say goodbye to the human powerhouse of compassion, humor, and safety.
This fundraiser is not only to help defray the costs involved with the travel and housing and medical expenses related to her condition, but as hospitals that perform liver transplants require that all potential donors get tested at that hospital, these much-needed funds will also help assist in paying for transportation and room and board for those persons who are willing to go to the Oschner Transplant Institute in New Orleans to be tested to see if they are compatible and able to donate half of their liver in order to help CeCe continue to live, love, and serve.
