Melinda Marleen (Goddard) Richardson, 47, of Dallas, OR, passed away suddenly on July 29, 2014. Born in Casper, Wyoming, on February 18, 1967, Melinda was the daughter of Pennie (Wisser) and Jim Renfro.
Melinda was proud of the fact that she had been Nathan Richardson III’s beloved wife for nearly 24 years, and family was of upmost importance to her. Melinda loved being a mother to her three children and was incredibly devoted to providing for their well-being. She enjoyed spending time with family and making the most of every day. Melinda was a whirlwind of positive change, always undertaking seeking to better her home, workplace, and community in ways both large and small, oftentimes without receiving recognition.
Melinda is perhaps known best for her fierce advocacy for those she cared about. Her courage to speak up gave strength to all who knew Melinda, yet her words were prudently chosen, so as not to offend. She gave careful attention to the impact of her actions upon others, seeking to be gracious and kind to all.
Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, Pennie Goddard, Jim Renfro and Cliff Goddard.
Along with husband, Nate, Melinda leaves her three children, Natalie, Jonathan, and Colton Richardson of Dallas, OR; sister Tara Hernandez of Mission, Texas, and a large extended family.
A celebration to honor Melinda’s life will be on Sunday, August 3rd at 2pm, at Dallas Foursquare Church, 976 SW Hayter St. in Dallas, OR, with Pastor Darrin Hausler officiating. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to gather for refreshments. In lieu of flowers, donations for final expenses and in memory of Melinda are appreciated.
