Jim Ashley was a man with the highest dreams, a giving soul and the life of any party. A man who desired to protect, comfort, accommodate and challenge those that he loved dearest and even, often, strangers. His mission was to work hard, succeed and help anyone he could along the way. He had dreams and expectations for himself that he fought long and hard for. Dreams and expectations for his children and grand children that he hoped would one day be accomplished through his hard work along with the dedication and motivation of others. Dreams and expectations for everyone he met. Jim could look past someones flaws and find the good qualities they posses. What some may deem a lesser quality, Jim would instead see as an opportunity to offer someone help or advice. Throughout his life, he helped anyone who seemed to have troubles. He helped many friends and strangers recover from battles with drug addictions, he loaned money just as much as he loaned advice and wisdom. He was known as “pop-pop” to every grandkid, their friends and neighborhood kids of all sorts. As a Watchdog at his granddaughters school, he volunteered his time to be there with not only his granddaughter but all the kids who did not have a volunteer of their own. Even in his afterlife, he continues to give. Jim was able to donate his liver, kidneys, lungs and heart to 4 separate recipients and positively impact hundreds of their loved one’s lives. He continues to inspire us all and we wish to honor Jim in ways he often expressed that he would prefer. His loving spirit and kind words will live on through his family and friends. Jim Ashley the son, the brother, the father, the grandfather, the uncle, the friend. Thank you Jim for touching so many peoples hearts in life and still after. This fundraiser is designed to help with medical expenses and memorial arrangements for Jim Ashley. Any additional money raised will go directly to opening college funds for his 4 grandchildren and research for seizures and head trauma. We thank you all in advance on Jim’s behalf and appreciate the kind thoughts, prayers and gestures.
