CDR Erin Simmons Scholarship

Donation protected
We are seeking support to maximize an endowment contribution in my late wife’s name. Although we are still working through some of the details, the ideal student for this scholarship will be an advanced level psychology student with progress or intent to join the US military. I will match all funds donated here and Adelphi University will match all contributions we all make to the endowment. Please assist me in helping a future Navy, Army or Air Force psychologist to achieve their dream.

A little about my wife:
Commander Erin Simmons, age 42, passed away on Tuesday August 21, 2018 in Ensenada Mexico. She was born on January 8, 1976, in Baltimore Maryland to Allan Eudell and Linda Golob. She graduated valedictorian from Owings Mills High School in 1994, summa cum laude from Franklin and Marshall University in 1997, completed her Masters of Arts from the University of Arkansas in 2001 and her Doctor of Philosophy from Adelphi University in 2004. She married Jesse Simmons on June 1, 2002 in Quantico Virginia. She was commissioned in the United States Navy in May 2003. Upon licensure as a clinical psychologist, she obtained board certification through American Board of Professional Psychology in 2015. Erin tirelessly and selflessly worked to provide and improve the mental health care of our Sailors, Marines and Soldiers. She coordinated efforts across multiple professional disciplines, developing in-patient and out-patient programs to ensure the health and safety of our military service members. She was a kind and caring person, always placing the cares and concerns of others above her own. Her adventurous personality drove her love of traveling, motorcycling and martial arts. Erin was a devoted wife, loving daughter and cherished friend. She is survived by her husband, Jesse; Father, Allan; Mother, Linda; Brother, Jared; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
