Help Ryan with Aplastic Anemia

Donation protected
This is my son Ryan.  He was diagnosed on April 16, 2014 with Aplastic Anemia.  This rare disease is, in short terms, when your bone marrow stops producing red blood cells, white cells and platelets.  He was in the University of Iowa Hospital and the Hope Lodge for nearly 6 weeks, and is now continuing his battle at home in Fort Dodge, IA.  He has under gone ATG treatments to suppress his immune system with the idea that this will jump start his bone marrow and help it to start producing blood cells again.  He is now visiting the Fort Dodge hospital and Cancer Center twice a week for blood work and transfusions.  I've lost track of how many transfusions there have been.  And I'm a bit scared of thinking about how many are yet to come.  This course of treatments can take many months and we continue to pray that it works for him.  If it doesn't, a bone marrow transplant is in his future.  Because your body is constantly so low on blood supply, and with the steady stream of medications, it puts stress on his liver and kidneys.  The low blood supply also causes extreme fatique and constant tiredness.  He is trying to work, but spending so much time at the hospital and just physically not feeling well, makes it difficult.  The extra medical expenses, as well as all the time off work have take its toll on his financial situation.  Watching your child struggle with such an awful disease is difficult!  I wish I could bear his burden.  We aren't the type of people who normally ask for assistance, but sometimes God puts large obstacles in your way, and you just need a little help pushing them out of the way.  Thank you for visiting this page, thank you for your prayers!
