My name is Milo Kaye and I am a senior at BPCS High School. For my Senior Project, I am working to raise money for the CDC Foundation because they are in need of funding to help communities prevent, detect, and respond to COVID-19, in the midst of this pandemic. The CDC Foundation is an independent nonprofit and the sole entity created by Congress to mobilize philanthropic and private-sector resources to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's critical public health protection work. Because there has never been a more critical time than the present to mobilize against a global pandemic, I highly encourage all BPCS high school students to donate to this campaign. All donations are tax-deductible and any amount makes a difference. Every week, contributions to this GoFundMe will be given to the CDC Foundation. This campaign will last until May 29th, so you can make recurring donations if you so choose. The recommended giving amount is $12.00. The funds that are raised and donated will go towards the following (courtesy of the CDC website): -Helping communities prevent, detect and respond to COVID-19 -Increasing laboratory capacity to keep pace with increasing demand for staffing, specialized equipment and supplies, specimen collection and delivery -Deploying emergency staffing with the skills required to meet the needs on the front lines at the state and local level -Providing support to vulnerable communities, including people with underlying health conditions and those who are homeless -Developing health education and awareness campaigns to combat misinformation, advancing prevention and reducing stigma boosting clinical tools to improve health outcomes -Developing new technology tools and updating existing disease surveillance systems -Building capacity and infrastructure for global response efforts and other immediate needs as they evolve Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that affects all of us.
