AACS National Competition 2018
Every year Calvary Christian School participates in a statewide academic and fine arts competition against other Christian schools within the state of California. The school is part of the Golden State Association of Christian Schools (GSACS), and in early March 2018, the high school and junior high students gathered in Santa Maria for two days of rigorous competition. The results are that a group of eight students has qualified to travel to South Carolina to compete at the American Association of Christian Schools National Competition by placing first at the state competition.
The students will be performing an arrangement of “Danny Boy” and a skit called “Super Hero Support Group.” A piano duet, a piano solo and a clarinet solo will also be performed. They have spent hours practicing their pieces, refining them to the glory of God. Our desire is to represent the Golden State well at Nationals.
With the competition across the country from California, the expense is high for the students to travel. We have to raise $4600 to cover the expense of the plane tickets, entry fees and vehicle rental. Anything you can do to help them make their way from the West to the South would be a blessing. Your prayers are also greatly coveted.
