<div>As I, Michi Benthaus, and Hans Koenigsmann are working on the technical challenges of bringing people with disabilities into space, we also want to shine a light back on Earth. Spinal cord injuries affect millions worldwide, and accessibility is not just a necessity in space exploration — it’s a necessity in everyday life.

<div>For me, who lives with a spinal cord injury, this mission is deeply personal. Together, we decided to use the special attention to raise funds for spinal cord research. Therefore, the<strong> proceeds of this Fundraiser will go to the Wings for Life Foundation</strong>, an organization closely to my heart. Wings for Life is dedicated to funding world-class scientific studies and clinical trials with one clear goal: <strong>finding a cure for spinal cord injury.</strong>

Rückenmarksverletzungen betreffen weltweit Millionen von Menschen, und Barrierefreiheit ist nicht nur in der Raumfahrt eine Notwendigkeit – sie ist es auch im Alltag.

<div>Für mich, die mit einer Querschnittslähmung leben muss, ist diese Mission eine sehr persönliche Angelegenheit. Gemeinsam haben wir daher beschlossen, die besondere Aufmerksamkeit zu nutzen, um Spenden für die Rückenmarksforschung zu sammeln. Deshalb gehen die <strong>Erlöse dieser Spendenaktion an die Wings for Life Stiftung</strong>, eine Organisation, die mir sehr am Herzen liegt. Wings for Life widmet sich der Finanzierung von erstklassigen wissenschaftlichen Studien und klinischen Studien mit einem klaren Ziel: <strong>Querschnittslähmung heilbar zu machen.</strong>
