Simone Davey is a bright spirited young lady. Simone has been in the US since she was fifteen years old, now 45. She graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School in Alexandria, VA. I’ve known her for twenty years. I find it disheartening that a person can be sent back to a place that is no longer familiar to them. Simone is from Kingston, Jamaica. Simone is here with her immediate family, to include, her mother, father, two sisters, niece, and two nephews. Simone was a permanent resident with a Green Card, until recently.
Unfortunately, there was a mishap when she was 24 years old that could have jeopardized her status, but she took care of it, with accountability and maturity. As we all experience growth through mistakes as a young person. In 2013, Simone went to Jamaica, on vacation, along with her mother and sisters. It wasn’t until coming back through Florida that she found out her mistake did not disappear as she was told.
It is unfortunate she is caught up in political madness as immigration laws have tightened to include those who have been here for years. This is causing her status great detriment.Simone’s family didn’t “sneak” into the US or falsify documents. Her parents did what they were supposed to do to be here, legally.
Simone has legal fees associated with keeping her permanent resident status. She has already obtained an attorney who has begun the process of filing paperwork to allow her to stay. However, her family is not able to pay in full. With that said,Simone’s attorney fees total $17,000. However, we are asking for assistance in raising $10,000 to continue with the process of getting her green card returned to her. Family and close friends have given, now we’re reaching out of the immediate circle for more assistance.
Your efforts will be greatly appreciated in lending a hand up and not a handout. Nothing was given to Simone. She has workedhard up until now. Asking you to donate as much as your circumstances will allow and share this information with your family and friends.
