It’s been 5 years since Shaina’s bike accident that left her with a brain injury. She has worked diligently and with determination to move forward towards her goal… “My one and only goal is to walk, it can be with a walker. The how isn't as important as actually doing it.”
To reach this goal, Shaina needs to be actively involved in more rehab and therapy sessions, in addition to the physical therapy covered by insurance. We are asking for donations to support the additional sessions to help her reach her goal of walking.
Shaina also has limited ability to speak. She uses sign language and a device that allows her to spell out sentences with a voice speaks for her. Shaina wants to improve the communication technology she uses by getting a Tobii Dynavox Indi 7. She says, "it will allow me to communicate with the outside world. " This device is not covered by her insurance, so donations would be welcomed to help Shaina stay connected!
