In 1997, I met my husband, Chad Justice, the love of my life, my soul mate....my eternity! Our love created two (2) beautiful baby girls, Hanna (11 yrs. old) and Haley (6 yrs. old). Chad called us "his girls", "his world", we were inseparable!
In early 2006, Chad fell ill and was hospitalized. After numerous extensive hospitalizations, labs, scans, and painful biopsies, our entire life would forever change. He was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy kidney disease. He became permanently disabled and could no longer work. In April, 2013, while being hospitalized, he suffered a pulmonary embolism and Afib heart issues. Emergency dialysis' began, and would become the most important part of his daily life. I became Chad's full time caregiver. Since then, he spent 90% of his time fighting for his life in the hospital as he had sepsis numerous times. As the sepsis set in, his lungs would begin to fail, which caused him to be intubated over ten (10) times. The sepsis would begin a battle with all of his organs as it would cause them to begin to shut down. The doctors informed us that Chad was in Stage V renal failure. A kidney transplant was not an option. His body became weaker and weaker. On November 4th, 2015, Chad's body could no longer fight this horrible battle. Surrounded by his family and friends, Chad gained his eternal peace. Through it all he showed tremendous courage and strength.
Because of this terminal illness, Chad did not qualify for life insurance. The State of Illinois helps low income families with funeral expenses. Due to budget cuts for lack of funds, we are now faced with this tremendous burden of now paying for the total amount for the funeral costs.
I now have to survive, alone and continue to raise our two (2) girls. Please help us give my husband peace and a final resting place. Thank you and may God be with you.
