Sammie's Medical Fund

Hi friends and family - thank you for taking the time to read this. I am going to try to keep long stories short, but I recently found out that Sammie is going to have to go through another surgery, this time on her right hip. As many of you know she has been through six surgeries in the past two years making this her seventh. She has gone through hearing the diagnosis of Addison's disease, surgeries on her lungs, many trips in and out of the hospital all the while staying so positive. 

Typically for someone who is insured surgery is an uphill challenge, but certainly not something that couldn't be managed or overcome. The story isn't the same when you are facing your seventh surgery in two years. Insurance costs don't stop at monthly premiums and deductibles. There are many out-of-pocket expenses associated with medications and surgeries and Sammie and Isaac have dealt with the costs and made it through in the last couple of years. 

However, this was something that was completely unexpected as it isn't related to any of her past health issues. She had been having some pain in her hip and after imaging it showed a bony growth that is affecting the ligaments in the hip. She already has a labral tear that needs repairing and without surgery will only damage them further. This isn't the type of surgery or health concern that you can put off until later when it is a more convenient time.

Sammie recently took a position at a new company and now has to ask them for 6 weeks off for recovery time and will be without PTO/leave/etc. Her deductible also starts over making the financial burden associated with this even heavier. 

Sammie doesn't ask much of her friends and family short of laughter and a good time, but I want to ask if you are able to help out in any way, no matter how little, it will make a difference in the coming months for Sammie and Isaac while they deal with these health issues together.
