                                                  My Bio
I am the first born daughter of Felicia Mullen Bracey and Alexander Bracey, III. I am the granddaughter of Yvonne and David Mullen and Barbara and Jonathan Scott. I am the sister of Darius and Ashleigh, and the cousin and niece of a host of relatives.
I won numerous awards for honor roll, and good citizenship, among other things as an elementary and middle school student.
I am currently enrolled in Bethel High School and have a 3.90 GPA.  I am on schedule to graduate with an Advanced Studies Diploma in June 2015. I am the Managing Editor for the school newspaper, the Bear Facts, and the Layout Editor for the school literary magazine, Polaris. I am also a member of the National Honor Society, Principal’s Advising and Consulting Team, Superintendant’s Advisory Board, and was recently inducted into the City-Council elected Hampton Youth Commission, the youth voice of Hampton. I was also on George Mason University’s Washington Journalism and Media Conference Youth Advisory Board for the 2014 school year.
In October 2013, I applied for a prestigious study abroad scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Shortly before my 17th birthday, I found out that I had been awarded a 2014-2015 National Security Language Initiative for Youth Scholarship to study Arabic in Amman, Jordan from June 16 – August 1.
I would like to attend George Mason University in the fall of 2015 and double major in Global Affairs and Spanish or Arabic. Everyone who knows me knows that I am an avid reader so I would like to promote my love of reading to people throughout the world. In the words of St. Augustine, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”

I also have some very exciting news to share with you! The members of the Zeta Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. have chosen me to participate in their annual Debutante Ball.

As a debutante, I will participate in a series of cultural and social activities, which will culminate on December 6, 2014 with the Debutante Ball. During this time, the Debutante Queen will be crowned.

I am believing that I will be the 2014 Queen. There are two very important advantages to being the Queen of the Ball. Not only will I reign over the Ball, which in itself is an exciting experience, but I will also be presented a financial scholarship to aid me in attending the university of my choice.

The amount of my scholarship will be determined by the amount of money that I receive through donations. Except for a small presentation fee, all of this money will be returned to me as a scholarship.

I hope that you will help me to realize my goal of being the 2014 Debutante Queen by making a generous contribution on my behalf. Your contribution will ensure you receive an invitation to the Ball. Your name will appear in the program booklet as one of my sponsors if your contribution is at least $10.00. A contribution from a Mr. & Mrs. Sponsor is at least $15.00. Elite sponsors will be listed in the booklet as Silver, Gold or Platinum. Silver — $25.00; Gold — $50.00; and Platinum — $100.00 and above. Donations may also be mailed to 1 Shaughanassee Ct. Hampton, VA 23666. Checks should be made payable to Zeta Kappa Omega - AKA.

I wish to thank you in advance for your support.

Very truly yours,
Alexis D. Bracey
