It's a BOY!!
We are so excited to announce that after 8 years of trying and praying Mike and Jami have received their perfect gift from God, a healthy baby boy! Cross Lee Pal Parks was brought into this world on July 21, 2014, weighing in at 6lbs. 14oz. As expected Mike and Jami are beaming with joy on the long awaited arrival!
The call for this arrival came very unexpected! Jami and Mike both were on the job, one in the middle of a hair cut and the other on a fire truck. Within minutes Jami was headed to the airport to fly out to Iowa, and Mike was packing the car to drive the long 15 hours to meet them. As expected it was love at first sight for both Mike, Jami and Cross.
Due to the adoption process Mike and Jami have had to stay in South Dakota (where the birth mom is from) up until Monday, when they had to make the long trek back to Texas to complete the final paperwork here. Cross is still in South Dakota being cared for by the best Grambear ever (Mike's mom) until Jami can get on another flight on Wednesday to be back with him!
Mike and Jami are overwhelmed with the amount of people who have offered their support and willingness to help anyway they can. So many people have contacted us and asked what they could do to help them make this process easier, so we thought this would be a great way to lend them a hand. They have accrued a lot of expenses, including airfare, hotel fees, eating out, gas and all the other things that come with being away from home. At this time they are not sure how long they will need to be staying in South Dakota in the hotel, it could be up to 6 weeks depending on when the court date can be set. This is a long and tiring process for this new family as you can imagine but they wouldn't change any of it for the world!
We know how much you all love and care for Jami and Mike and how much we have all prayed that we would get to witness them becoming parents. If you would like to donate in a monetary way please do so here, and if you do not please continue to pray for the entire family during this journey. Both are greatly appreciated!
