Feral Food and Shelter Team

Pictured above is Lily.   In 2010  she was rescued from Tennessee avoiding a certain feral life and adopted by my Mom when Lily was 4 months old.  When my Mom passed in 2016, I took Lily into my home, where she has her own little plush pet house.  I have managed to corral the other 2 and they are now transitioning  into becoming indoor house cats.  If you have been following the story, you know Old Smokey was hit by a car which he didn't survive and then Sugar disappeared for 2 weeks soon after causing me great consternation  and great relief when she showed up again.
Our new goal will push us past the $5000 milestone - only $40 to reach that goal  and $200 to reach the monthly goal for food being provided to our feral feeders,  bulk of which goes to Catsylvania.   In the last couple of months we have purchased 5 new shelters as well.   As before, if you are unable to donate,  clip some coupons, or send us some cat food and if anybody has a neat design for feeding stations, send 'em to me.   These items are like money because they save money.  Thank you all.

Late last year the local Humane Society began  funding the TNR efforts within Colonial Beach town  limits.  Your GoFundMe donations since I began this have funded  TNR of over 40 feral cats.  Now that our local HS has stepped up their mission, the combined total has approached 135  (UPDATE:  Now over 160).  This GoFundMe  has returned it's focus to its original mission of feeding and sheltering the various feral colonies in the town concentrating on Catsylvania first.   Several of the caregivers are on fixed income (including me) and the donations  help ease the strain on their budgets..  In the 10 months since I started this, we have built shelters for over 50 cats complete with straw bedding and purr pads,  fed them on a daily basis, set up a recycling system to keep their feeding bowls clean,  homed 6 kittens including our adorable Rags and Ollie, chased vultures away, healed Sinatra's wound and policed the colony areas for trash, etc.  A few of the volunteers are going to design and assemble buzzard inhibiting feeding stations on their own dime as well as S/N cats who are adopted out to carefully vetted loving homes.   In August this fund bought two new shelters, 300 cans of wet food and 80  pounds of dry.

There are no overhead charges from us, however GoFundMe deletes a $0.30 fee per transaction and a 2.9% per donation.  If you donate $10, we receive $9.41 which all goes 100% to the ferals for food, shelter and other stray or lost cat services.

*Please note the figure to the left is the cumulative amount  of donations for the last 10 months.
