Cats Shot!! Used for Target Practice! Funds for Medical Care needed!
Our community is in desperate need of help! Someone has been using cats as target practice and leaving them for dead at a bridge on Roger Hill road. There have been at least eight cats involved.
It was found that someone had put out food for these cats and while they were eating someone shot them to death. A shot gun, 22 and a 9 mm was used to kill them. Two were found dead, one was paralyzed from the neck down but still alive, one had a broken hip and one is really skinny with matted hair. Two other cats are not in good shape. There is possibly 3 more injured that have not been found yet.
The Animal House of Rutherford College is treating the sick and injured cats with promise of payment later. The Veterinarian, Dr. Kennedy, removed a 9mm bullet from the upper lip of one of the deceased babies. It's jaw was obliterated and the baby never had a chance. They are dehydrated and sick as well as injured.
This occurred on Roger Hill Road Connelly Springs NC, which is near South Mtn State Park. All of the cats appeared to be at least one year old and older. A community member shared ‘As I was leaving a friend’s house yesterday on Roger Hill Rd a light silver dodge ram with 3 people in it passed going slow. I turned around before the bridge and they had put out 10 cats and threw the kennels in the weeds. ‘
