I will be working with Paula and Fontaine Greene, founders of Catalyst Resources International. Kelly from Kandrac and Kole is leading the team this year which will be a blend of adults, 20-somethings and teens. I'm a little nervuos as this will be my first mission trip, but yet something I have always wanted to do. All it takes is strong faith, abundant energy and a positive attitude to take this leap of faith outside my comfort zone. So here we go!
Our week long mission will be similar to years past: 1) to assist with the two orphanages that CRI runs in Guatemala 2) to help serve food and play with the kids at the village elementary school and most importantly 3) to build a 2 bedroom house for a very deserving family.
Undeniably, we live a privileged life. It's hard to believe that such poverty and despair could exist in the world until you see it with your own eyes. The amazing thing is how easy it is to make a difference - whether it be simply filling an empty tummy for the day to giving a pair of shoes to a child that has never owned a pair to putting a roof over a families head and an real bed to sleep in instead of a blanket on the dirt.
To build a house from the ground up for a family which includes a water purifier and a stove, we need to raise $3,500. This is our big goal. We would love your support! A donation in any amount is much appreciated! Life is crazy busy and not everybody has the time or the desire to make a trip like this. It is our pleasure and our honor to make this journey for all of us. We appreciate your support!
