Not Your Typical Cat Lady

Donation protected
I'm a resident of the East Falls (as of 7/15-- Fishtown for 10 years before that!) neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA, and grew up in the Lehigh Valley, Emmaus, near Allentown, if you’re familiar with the area. I guess you could call me a (wannabe?) crazy cat lady.

I've been fostering for years- both for local animal organizations and as a freelancer, you might say. Cats in need just seem to find their way to me, one way or another. Over the last 14 years, I'd estimate that I've found homes for about 150 cats... maybe more!

Cats that find their way to me get the works-- they are fully vetted (with the help of donations from some small local cat rescues and with often discounted veterinary services). While they're with me,  they even get their own "cat room," equipped with a sunny window, a tall cat stand/cat scratching post with multiple levels for relaxing, and all the wet food they could dream of.

I make it a point to keep in touch as best I can with all my adopters/adoptees, either through Facebook, texting, etc. I've made some great friends too!

I've got four cats of my own (Chloe- the original, almost 18 now, and still going strong; Carly- rescued from being a porch cat on Carlisle St. in  North Philly;   Pumpkin, my former permanent outside cat who greeted me the day I moved in back in  March of '05 and who I snagged when I moved to my new place in East Falls, and little Fiona, rescued as a mean, angry, fur ball from behind a school at Broad and Pike. She's blind in one eye and goofy as hell, but she's a sweetheart and a failed foster. I briefly rehomed her, but was secretly hoping it wouldn't work out. And it didn't! So now she's my Fifi. Various ferals still frequent outside, with the possums and random raccoons, too.

Any money donated would be used for costs incurred while capturing, providing veterinary care for, and general care (food, flea and tick products, treats/catnip, toys, etc.). If you'd like, I'd also gladly add you on Facebook and/or send you e-mails with pictures and information about the cats you are helping. Any chance I get to talk/write about and take pictures of cats, I will gladly take!

I have lots of people who can vouch for my animal rescue/cat fostering work and am happy to answer any questions you might have/provide any proof, etc. I'll even send you cats on demand. I recently re-homed a kitten all the way out to St. Louis, MO!
