Hi Academy Girls:
As you know, our dear Cathy is slipping away from us. As you may not know, Cathy's dad is also terminal. They are in the same hospital and Cathy's amazing mom, Margaret, is doing an amazing job caring for them both while still managing regular life things.
Margaret has had to take an extended leave from work in order to care for her daughter and husband. She has also encountered a lot of unexpected and very high expenses as both Cathy and her dad need expensive medications, assistance, and other supports. In the future--lets hope the far future--there will also be other expenses. This additional financial stress is a burden I am hoping we can help mitigate.
One way we can concretely help Cathy's mom is to make things a bit easier for her financially. Please donate what you can and share widely with your Academy networks.
All funds will go to Margaret to use to defray medical and other costs.
