Hi, my name is Cathy Wogan. My 36-year-old son became disabled after a liver transplant 8 years ago. He has a very rare mitochondrial disease that we were never even aware of until 6 years ago after advanced genetic testing. I am his sole caregiver. After teaching for 36 years, I finally had to retire to be able to have the stamina and energy to care for him at home. Unfortunately, we are struggling financially now without my teaching income.
We still owe on parent plus loans that could not be discharged for his college expenses.
Also, we are continuing to pay for a specialized tub for him to use in the house. My son was paying for the parent plus loans until he became disabled from this life-changing event.
My son's condition is debilitating and there is no cure for it. He is unable to work at all. He has daily seizures as well. His father does not participate at all in any of his care.
Please consider helping us financially at this time. This has been an extremely rough road for my family. Anything you could send would be so graciously appreciated and accepted.
Also, your prayers mean the world to us.
God bless you all,
Cathy
