Cathy Hansen Lung Transplant

Cathy is like many of us. She's worked hard all of her life but, other than her kids, family and friends, has little to show for it. She has no cash in reserve but has always kept up with the monthly bills etc.

She has had a diagnosis of COPD for a number of years. At first it was a nuisance but  now it has developed into a life threatening disease, unless she receives a lung transplant . She is a candidate for the transplant surgery and has gone through rigorous testing to make sure she is suited for the procedure, and, she is.

Lung transplant surgery is expensive and she has health insurance (with a deductible) to cover some of the basic costs. However, there are costs associated that insurance doesn't begin to cover. UPDATE: Cathy was let go from her job on 9/21/18, the reason given was that she was no longer able to perform her duties. She will now have no income, save hopefully unemployment benefits, leading up to the surgery and during the initial 3 month recovery period. She will also require 24/7 skilled personal care for 3 months following the procedure.

We understand that not everyone has the ability to donate to causes like Cathy's and while we appreciate all donations greatly, if you cannot donate we would be grateful if you could help us by spreading the word about her situation.
