CARING FOR CATHY THROUGH CML

My name is Tracie and I am starting this GoFund me page for one of my dearest friends, Cathy Burnham.  She was diagnosed earlier this year with CML - Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.  CML is a rare form of cancer that affects your blood cells and bone marrow.   Cathy is currently under the care of a team of specialists up at The Huntsman Cancer Institute.  Her doctors have told her that while they have treatments to offer, we need to understand that there is no cure.  She will have this for the rest of her life.  This news has been devastating for not only her, but to everyone that knows and loves her.  

Cathy is one of the most caring, giving, selfless people I know.  She would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it more than she did.  She loves the outdoors, animals and has always worked to help others.  Before her diagnosis, Cathy worked as a Reiki Master and Massage Therapist (with over 25 years experience.) She has helped hundreds of others throughout her career.  Now she is the one that needs assistance. 

Cathy is currently unable to work  because of the side effects her treatment are causing and the risks of infection while on treatment could be devastating.  The money raised will go toward assisting her with her ongoing medical bills and everyday living expenses.  Cathy's focus should be on health and healing.  Nobody should have to choose between food, their house payment or paying for the life saving medical care that they need.
