Gemini's school secretary, Cathy Austin unexpectedly lost her husband, Butch this week.  Myself and some other Gemini parents are asking for donations and/or gift cards to support Cathy and her family.  Thank you for your consideration!

From Cathy's Facebook page:
I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude to everyone that has reached out to me during this incredibly difficult time of my life. The unexpected loss of a husband destroys you in ways that you can never even imagine.
I feel the need to share “ our story”. Butch and I met in 1977 when he drove into my parents gas station for gas. He strolls out of a beautiful blue Camaro like he owned the world. From the moment I met him, I knew beyond any doubt that we were soul mates. The need I had to be a part of his life was something I could not deny. We married in 1981 and became partners in life. Our connection was immediate and strong. From the beginning “Butch and Cathy” became who we were.
We were blessed in 1984 with a daughter that embodies the best of both of us.
From Butch, I gained strength, determination and a never give up attitude. Anyone that knows us, knows that we are complete opposites. Years of give and take, of winning and losing, of love and lost created a duo that at times became one.
When Butch left this world a part of me disappeared. The void inside my heart is filled with only an ache that is indescribable. I know that my life has forever changed. If I have learned anything from this is that I was blessed to have had him in my life for 41 years. I have memories that will carry me through my life.
I had the love of a man that completed me.
Was it perfect? NO WAY. Was it easy? NOPE. Would I do it all over the same way? Absolutely NOT!
I would have told him the last morning I saw him that I loved him, I would have told him the night before that I loved him, I would have told him every single day that I loved him more than anything in this world. I always assumed I could say it anytime but that’s not true. You never know when will be the last time.
So please say it and say it often because “ I love you” are the three most powerful words in the world.

“It’s impossible to forget someone that gave you so much to remember.”

I will love you forever!
