The last thing anyone ever wants to talk about is the illness of their child. Unfortunately, our friends the Muirs, are in the fight of their life for their sweet daughter, Catherine aka: Kitty.  On the 26th of July, Catherine was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  Her healthcare team caught it early and she is receiving the best possible care at VCU Medical Center, but has a long road ahead.  Currently, they are looking at 6-8 weeks of hospitalization while she is receiving agressive chemotherapy treatments.  After the completion of the initial continuous treatment,  there will be an additional 6-9 months of intermittent chemotherapy, much of which will also require hospitalization, followed by another year or more of maintenance chemotherapy.  Needless to say, the medical bills alone will be insurmountable.  As you can imagine, their lives have been turned upside down in a matter of days.  The daily care of the family is going to be of top priority and the very last thing we want them concerned about is the additional financial burden. In addition to an abundance of prayers, any help you can provide at this time is greatly appreciated, not only to aid in the care and medical expenses for Catherine but in support of their other three girls, Emma, Abbey, and Molly.  Please refer to the Caring Bridge website for updates on Catherine's progress.
